Partners
World Nomads works with a range of charities and NGOs and we're on the lookout for more. Our current partners include:
Care Australia
CARE Australia is the largest non-political non-religious overseas aid organisation in the country, providing humanitarian assistance across the globe.
Australian Himalayan Foundation
The Foundation has been established to “give something back” to the people of the Himalaya, an inspiring but impoverished region, through working with local partners to develop and support education, medical and environmental projects.
Its present core projects are: a teacher training project for primary schools and their communities in Nepal; a medical treatment centre for remote communities in Ladakh, northern India; and an environmental education project in a Bhutan national park. The AHF is a not-for-profit non-government charity with full tax deductibility status.
Fred Hollows Foundation
The Fred Hollows Foundation is a non-government organisation. Established in 1992, The Foundation has worked with local partners to eradicate unnecessary blindness in more than 29 developing countries. As a result, local doctors in countries where we work have restored sight to more than 1,000,000 disadvantaged people! Following the late Professor Fred Hollows' commitment to Indigenous people, The Foundation is also working to improve the health of Indigenous Australians, in partnership with the communities in the Jawoyn region, east of Katherine in the Northern Territory.
Oxfam Australia
Across 31 countries, we work in partnership with local communities to overcome poverty and injustice. Our work includes long-term development projects, responding to emergencies and campaigning for a more just world.
"The regular monthly donations Oxfam Australia receives from World Nomads Travel Insurance through its Footprints program are really helping us work towards a world in which all people are able to control their own lives and to enjoy their basic rights.
Between April and August 2005 more than $5,000 has been donated through the program to support our work with local communities in Asia, Africa, the Pacific and Australia. This is a tremendous effort - thanks to all at World Nomads for making a difference and a big thank you to all your generous customers for supporting us in our work"
Andrew Hewett, Executive Director, Oxfam Australia
Save the Children Australia
Save the Children Australia aims to ensure that all children, regardless of gender, race, country of origin or religious belief have the means for survival, receive protection and have access to nutrition, primary health care and basic education.
"Save the Children Australia receives financial support from the Footprints program via customers that direct their contribution to our organisation. Footprints provide reports on a regular basis confirming donations."
Andy Scobie, National Business Development Manager, Save The Children
WaterAid Australia
Over one billion people in the world don't have access to safe, clean water to drink, and over two billion don't have sanitation. WaterAid Australia is an international NGO dedicated exclusively to the provision of safe domestic water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world's poorest people.
"WaterAid Australia welcomes the quality of support we receive from Footprints - with clear monthly reports of funds raised on-line we are able to efficiently provide much needed water and sanitation to those in need."
Chris Wooton, CEO WaterAid Australia.
If you know of a non-political non-religious organisation that you think should be involved in Footprint, please contact us and we'll investigate if they are suitable and able to participate.
Thanks you for your support
